Culture festivals

The Marche offers, especially during summertime, many special cultural prompts across the whole territory. There are several festivals in every province, of every kind and for everybody’s taste. To quote a few, from June 27 until July 1 in Fano (PU) there is Passaggi Festival, an event that hosts great names discussing about Literary essays. In the province of Pesaro Urbino there is also a traveling festival – for one month from June 16 to July 27 – for scientists, intellectuals, artists, musicians with hundreds of events in the backcountry of the province, in evocative locations, aptly named Ville e Castella. In relation to music, you should not miss Musicultura, at the Sferisterio Arena in Macerata this weekend, with other dates in Recanati, where the festival was originally founded. Summer Jamboree is impressive and takes place in Senigallia, an International Festival about music, arts and culture of the Forties and Fifties.

Exhibit and museums

Every small medieval borgo in the region Marche offers exhibitions on the local history: castles and handcrafts are main topics. In relation to arts, in Urbino – the lush area of Montefeltro – you can visit the magnificent Palazzo Ducale and Raphael’s Home, among many other beauties of the arts’ city. Also the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona offers several exhibitions, events and installations: now you can enjoy the precious exhibition of the pictures by Cartier-Bresson (exhibit lasts until Sunday, June 17!).

Food

It may seem predictable, but it’s not. If your farmhouse is in the area of Pesaro and Urbino you should not forget to visit Fano and its International Festival of Brodetto from July 5 to 8, we suggest a visit at the Bar by the harbor to taste a Moretta (coffee added with a special local spirit). The Street Food Festival travels across the region Marche, it will have a date in Ancona this weekend, with revisited local traditional and delicious food to eat quietly, with many tasty dishes. Wine is widely produced in the region Marche (especially Rosso Conero and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi) and you can taste it in every wine bar.

The Marche is a multifaceted region, as we usually say, and because of its name (in plural) offers several opportunities.
