A feeling of peaceful melancholy, an infinite land, a borderless space, this is the region Marche in Leopardi’s thoughts, that we can understand from his pleasing verses, a place that pushes everyone to overlook from his beloved “solitary hill”. You must visit Recanati if you stay in the area, but also if you want to know something more about this amazing land.
Another example of the genius of the Marche is undoubtedly Gioacchino Rossini, composer from Pesaro who passed away 150 years ago, and his memory is well kept in every road of Pesaro.
And the brilliant Raffaello Sanzio, who was born in Urbino, where you can still visit his birth house, an opportunity you should not miss in the stunning city of Urbino.
