The old school

In the Montecarotto countryside lies this former village school with a unique charm. This building where many children had the opportunity to study, always carries a playful energy, which is also clear in these pictures. It’s a serene house, on one single floor that covers 165 square meters surrounded by a fenced garden of 1100 square meters.

In the former school, a large apartment has been created with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, a dining room, a small kitchen with an adjoining room with fireplace, and a pantry. There’s also a terrace where you can dine outdoors, furnished with a nice table.

Montecarotto is a curious and beautiful place, known as the village of wine. As you climb towards the three hundred meters above sea level and beyond, you find this heart of bricks, divided by neighborhood streets where everyone knows each other. It has the modesty mixed with audacity of having a history, shared with all the other towns nearby, and thanks to that history, the inhabitants don’t want to leave. There are those who resist and meet at the bar in the square in front of the Theater, which is also historic, and then in the summer, they move to the cloister, joining in the various wine festivals that follow one another. The sea in the background, Senigallia and the beach where you can run are nearby, but it’s also nice here in the summer, there’s more breeze.

The medieval tower, the theater, and the many churches perched on the hill make the village look like a postcard. The various farms scattered throughout the area make it primarily an agricultural village, tied to the rhythms of nature and the seasons. Nearby, there’s also Serra dè Conti, which is more equipped with shops, and then Moie and Jesi.
