Not far from the archaeological park of Urbs Salvia, a 40-hectare area where the remains of an ancient Augustan-era Roman city can be found, stands this beautiful farmhouse built with antique bricks, complete with an annex. Both buildings have been completely renovated.

It is located in a dominant position, with a fully fenced 7,500 sqm garden, about 500 meters from a beautiful village, and not far from the ancient Abbey of Fiastra, a vast natural reserve belonging to the Cistercian monks.

The city of Macerata is about 16 km away.

The sea is about 35 km away and is easily accessible via a convenient expressway (which, however, is not in the immediate vicinity).

A curiosity: The ancient archaeological park of Urbisaglia includes a beautiful amphitheater, still in use for some summer theatrical performances. It was built by order of Lucius Flavius Silva Nonio Basso , a native of Urbs Salvia, a senator under Nero, and a commander in the First Jewish War. He defeated and conquered Masada after a long siege, shocking the Romans with what they found upon arrival. In a famous American television series from 1981, the role of Lucius Flavius Silva was played by Peter O’Toole.

Under Domitian, by order of the emperor, he was condemned to Damnatio Memoriae, as he had become very popular—perhaps too much—among the Romans themselves.
