Barchio Mill

Mulino Barchio in Cupramontana is a completely restored historic building located on the edge of Cupramontana, in the valley known as the Esinante, and which leads towards the town of Apiro.

Historically, this is the mill that served the populations of Alta Vallesina, built from local stone and sandstone, aesthetically very attractive, with living space on the upper floors.

The renovation of the building has been carried out with the utmost care, right down to the smallest detail, and has involved the construction of:

Main building: 313 square metres, spread over three floors:

– 6 large and very bright bedrooms, with beamed ceilings and terracotta tiles, terracotta floors, wooden window frames with double glazing. Each room has its own bathroom with shower;

– 2 large living rooms for guests with breakfast facilities;

– 1 office space with Internet connection and library;

– a living area with kitchen, sitting room and dining room with a central fireplace and TV area;

– laundry and storage room.

Secondary building: 31 square metres, made of stone and the potential for another living space. Currently used for storage.

Building of 12 square metres, currently only detailed on the cadastral plan but usable as a potential additional volume.

Land: extremely fertile, flat land of 4 and a half hectares including a perfectly maintained, one-hectare vineyard which produces an excellent Verdicchio wine that is sold to local producers, arable agricultural land and an orchard. There is also a fresh water spring on the land.

The restoration has been carried out in compliance with all anti-seismic rules; it has LPG heating and a fireplace; electricity and mains water are connected.

Location: very handy, at about 3.5 km from the well-served town of Cupramontana, or likewise Vallesina where there are other villages within easy reach of motorway and railway connections.

It is currently used as a B&B by the owners and has been producing a good income since 2005, as well as produce from the land and small farmyard animals.

It is near the district of Alta Vallesina, Monte San Vicino and Lago di Cingoli, the wonderful Frasassi Caves (www.frasassi.it) and the regional park of Gola della Rossa.

Less than 30 minutes from the airport, the Adriatic Sea, and less than 20 minutes from Jesi and Fabriano. All reachable via the handy Ancona-Rome motorway.

Cupramontana is a town renowned for its beautiful surroundings and natural setting, as well as for the production of Verdicchio wine.
