Villa Scalco is located upon a hill in a cozy and intimate area, although it is not isolated, surrounded by two hectares of land consisting of park and olive grove that seem to protect the property.
The entrance is evocative and impressive at the same time, it reminds of the times in which this property was built: the eighteenth century. You go through a long avenue of centuries-old horse-chestnut trees with a thick foliage that during the summer create a large shadow, a perfect place for walking and enjoying the open air even when it is hot. Going up the beautiful gray porphyry stairs of the villa you have the feeling of entering a world where time stands still. This property is in fact a rare example of 18th-century patrician architecture of the region Marche and has been perfectly maintained, undergoing very few alterations, adjustments and modifications over the centuries.
Villa Scalco covers a surface of about 400 square meters, is composed of five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large and spacious kitchen, cellars, and a laundry. There is also the old servants’ tower, which is a perfect example of the still intact history of this house. The living rooms are a further element of prestige, since they have frescoes.
In relation to the outdoors area, the loggia leads to the family church and the old stone house, now used as a studio to paint, but could be used for various and different uses, according to the needs and wishes of the owners. The external buildings increase the total surface of the property of 200 square meters.
The property is located in the area of San Severino Marche, in the province of Macerata: it is only 20 minutes from Macerata, a beautiful city not only rich in services but also in history. The seaside is 35 minutes far, while 40 minutes’ drive are the ski resorts of the Sibillini Mountains and its national park, so that you are close to the sea, the mountains and hills, into an architectural setting of the past.
