Montefano is a small village nestled on the first hills facing the sea, its border touching Recanati on one side and Filottrano on the other. It’s a gentle countryside, far from the sweet harshness of Urbino or the bare roundness of Senigallia. Here everything is glimpse, glance, impression. Nothing escapes because nothing is random; the oaks lining the country roads never leave your side, and in the background, the sight of the Sibillini Mountains reminds you that limits are ephemeral, sometimes deceptive.
The essential thing is to see beyond, as Giacomo, our national poet who was born nearby, used to do. But we are also not far from the Adriatic, a natural channel between two civilizations that have often merged, that east and west which has carried myths and legends, blending and dividing but always respecting each others’ arts and cultures. We are not just countryside. And this is demonstrated by the surprising theater of Montefano nestled in the small, jealously guarded historic center, proving that we are not just reason but also sentiment, and the opposite holds true as well: in the Marche region, it takes little to soar, between the ups and downs of the hills on a warm spring day and a sun-drenched dusk of midsummer amid expanses of sunflowers.
The sea of Numana is as distant as a concentrated conversation over the phone: less than twenty minutes away. And you’re at Conero. That is, one of the coolest coastlines of the central Adriatic, along with the beaches of Sirolo and the bay of Portonovo. Coming to live here doesn’t mean bidding farewell to the world, but disconnecting, yes. And in a big way. But don’t spread the word.
Casale Allegro is composed as follows: on a courtyard of about 7000 square meters lies the main house, 400 square meters vertically divided into two apartments.
