Lola House

The house is part of a characterful old-town centre located on the hills rising from the Vallesina,
between the villages and hamlets that form Cupramontana, the queen of Verdicchio, one of the
much-loved white wines from the Marche. The building’s beautiful stonemasonry is immediately
apparent, a pale mustard-coloured sandstone, which is typical of the area and characterises all the
buildings from this particular era. The house has always been a study in architecture, composition
and the materials that constitute it, narrate and preserve first and foremost the history of the
area. If “words are stones”, these, in essence, are stones whose stratification reveals their geology.
Casa Lola is a building of 145 square meters divided over three floors, and has recently been
completely renovated. It has two entrances on different levels, one from the courtyard facing the
road, the other directly from the street inside the old-town centre.
The house comprises:
Entrance space with wine cellar, cave and closet. The entrance also has a small built-in kitchen that’s
perfect for the outdoor garden. The upper floor is accessed via a terracotta-paved brick staircase and
leads to the bright and comfortable living room, with a working fireplace, next to a delightful fullyfitted kitchen-diner, a bathroom and dressing room.
On the second floor we have a hallway (with the entrance from the old-town centre), two beautiful
bright and spacious bedrooms, and a bathroom with shower. The decor has been chosen with great
care and with remarkable aesthetic sensitivity: original terracotta floors, ceilings with exposed
beams and terracotta tiles, high-quality sanitary ware.
Outside there is a small courtyard with a large tree, perfect for outdoor dining, or reclining and
relaxing whilst taking in the surroundings …
The road is never busy and is quiet. For shopping there’s Maiolati Spontini or Cupramontana,
the latter boasting all the amenities you could require.
