[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]In the province of Ancona there is the throbbing heart for the production of one of the most typical wines of the region Marche: Lacrima di Morro d\u2019Alba<\/em> is mainly produced in the town with the same name, together with some other nearby towns. Morro d\u2019Alba<\/strong> and its Lacrima tell an ancient story, which includes also an enviable record: Morro d\u2019Alba is the only Italian borgo whom city walls are shoe-shaped<\/em>, used as watch passage.<\/p>\n

The town<\/h2>\n

The town is located upon the hills and the valleys of rivers Misa<\/em> and Esino<\/em>, Morro d\u2019Alba has 1800 inhabitants.<\/p>\n

It stands on a privileged position, in fact in town you can look over the sea and the main local attractions, such as the shores of Senigallia and the old town of Jesi, which are just 10-15 kilometers away. The town has very ancient origins; still remain evident proofs that the town was inhabited during Roman times.<\/p>\n

Its shoe-shaped and medieval city walls left a permanent mark on the history of Morro d\u2019Alba, which fiercely refused in 2016 to join the municipality of Senigallia, in order to keep its own uniqueness and typical features. In addition to the city walls, you can also visit the Palazzo Municipale, the basements and the San Gaudenzio and Santissima Annunziata churches.<\/p>\n

The Lacrima di Morro d\u2019Alba<\/h2>\n

In addition to history, there is also a tradition that comes and develops from history. Even if the excellent red wine Lacrima di Morro d\u2019Alba<\/em> was certified DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) in 1985, the local wine<\/a> has ancient origins; actually it dates back to Roman times.<\/p>\n

The first historical and official quotation is in 1167 when Frederick Barbarossa<\/em> took over the walls of Morro d\u2019Alba, tasting local excellent food accompanied by the local red wine (at the time, grape juice). The Lacrima grape used to be cultivated only in the territory of Morro d\u2019Alba, and then more recently its production developed in surrounding areas of Senigallia, always in the Province of Ancona. Lacrima is a full-bodied wine, evidently rich in tannins, perfect to accompany local typical dishes of the region Marche, such as cured pork meats and meat ragu sauce.<\/p>\n
